F5 Targets Cloud Providers
Seattle-based networking products maker F5 Networks is targeting providers of cloud services today, saying it has launched a new cloud licensing program specifically aimed at Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud providers. F5 said its new program will provider virtual editions of its BIG-IP solutions, and will help open up a "lot more opportunity" in a new market. The new program also allows cloud providers to bill for F5's BIG-IP Virtual Edition products based on instances in use. All of F5's products are used for traffic shaping and prioritization by companies, to better manage network traffic.
