Wenatchee-based Modern Networking, a firm that operates a telecommunications network focused on the healthcare industry, has been acquired by GCI, an Alaskan provider of integrated telecommunications services, GCI said this week. Modern Networking provides a medical network that it provides to clinics, hospitals, and medical corporations. Financial terms were not diclosed. Modern Networking will become part of GCI's ConnectMD service, a service for exchanging medical data and other operations.
