    Getty Images Acquires WireImage For $200M


    Seattle-based Getty Images said this morning that it has acquired WireImage, a provider of entertainment and event imagery, in a deal worth $200M in cash. The deal also includes MediaVast, the owner of WireImage, and the brands FilmMagic and Contour Photos. Getty said that the acquisition is part of the company's strategy for accelerating the growth of its editorial imagery business. WireImage's founders and key executives will join Getty Images following the acquisition. WireImage employs 230 worldwide.
