Heptio Collects $8.5M For Container Software

Seattle-based Heptio, founded by former Googlers Craig McLuckie and Joe Beda, has raised $8.5M in a funding round, the company said Thursday morning. The Series A funding was led by Accel, and also included Madrona Venture Group. Heptio is behind the open source Kubernetes project, which was spun out of Google's efforts to manage its own containers, and which was created by McLuckie and Beda.
