Igneous Systems Finds $23.6M

Seattle-based Igneous Systems, a stealth mode company founded by a trio of Isilon Systems vets, said today that it has raised $23.6M in a Series A funding round. The startup, led by Kiran Bhageshpur, said the funding was led by New Enterprise Associates, and also included Madrona Venture Group, Redpoint Ventures, and Sujal Patel, the co-founder of Isilon. The company said the funding comes on top of an earlier, $3M seed funding round led by Madrona Venture Group. Igneous said that Ron Bernal of NEA has joined the company's board with the funding. The new funds will go towards product development and expanding the company's engineering team. Igneous Systems says is is focused on the data center infrastructure market, but has been mum on what it is working on. More information »
