    IMSafer Acquired By UK Firm

Crisp, a U.K.-based publisher of Internet message-monitoring software designed to protect children, announced Monday that it has completed its acquisition of Oregon-based child safety software publisher IMSafer. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Headquartered in Beaverton, IMSafer has developed an application of the same name that monitors online conversations and identifies abusive or sexual remarks and immediately notifies parents. In less than 15 months, IMSafer has signed on more than 137,000 users. Due to IMSafer’s high visibility, Crisp said it will retain the brand and market it globally. IMSafer the company, however, will become Crisp US and will serve as Crisp’s U.S. headquarters, Crisp said. IMSafer co-founder Tommy McClung will stay on as general manager of the outfit. Additionally, Crisp said it will begin hiring to augment its U.S. team.
