    Infospace Launches Pet Adoption Widget


    Bellevue-based Infospace's Dogpile.com, the online web search site, said this morning that it has created a new social networking web widget, focused on connecting animal lovers with pets in needs of homes. According to Infospace, the widget will pull information from Petfinder.com, an online database of adoptable pets, and display it on Facebook or MySpace pages. The widget will provide information about adopting pets, based on type, breed, and location. Infospace said taht it will also integrate relevant Petfinder content onto its search results on Dogpile.com. Financial details behind the partnership between Dogpile and Petfinder were not released.
