INRIX: Traffic Bad, Getting Worse

Kirkland-based INRIX, the provider of traffic data and navigation services, has released a slice of its data today in its annual National Traffic Scorecard. According to the company, traffic is getting worse on America's roads, with gridlock and longer commute times returning to the roads in 2010. The firm said that traffic congestion increased nationwide for 11 consecutive months in 2010. The firm attributed the increased gridlock to population growth, and the economic recovery. The report also said that "even worse gridlock" is expected when jobs lost in the recession return to cities. Seattle was number ten on the firm's list of most congested cities.
