    Insightful Cuts Staff

Seattle-based Insightful, a publicly traded provider of predictive analytics and reporting software, said Monday that it has cut its headcount by 18 employees. The firm said that the cuts were mostly in its research and development staff. According to Insightful, the cuts were made in order to reduce the firm's operating expenses to match current revenue levels. The firm said the move will result in the firm having 116 employees, down from 152 employees at the end of September. The remainder of the cuts came from prior voluntary and involuntary reductions since September. Insightful develops data analysis and data mining software.
