Gig Harbor, Washington-based Inventure Chemical has raised a first round of funding, the firm said recently, but did not disclose investors. The firm said that the capital will be used to expand the company's test production site and to further develop its processes. Inventure is developing a way for converting algae to biofuels, including ethanol.
