Isilon Acquired By EMC For $2.25 Billion

Seattle-based Isilon, the provider of network attached storage devices, has been acquired by data storage giant EMC in a deal worth $2.25 billion. According to EMC this morning, it will pay $33.85 per share in cash in exchange for each share of Isilon, net Isilon's existing cash balance. EMC said it will combine Isilon with its own, EMC ATmos object storage effort, which will help that business reach a $1 billion run rate during the second half of 2012. Isilon's network attached storage (NAS) devices are used by enterprises to store business information.
