Itron Acquires Actaris

Spokane, Washington-based Itron announced today that it has completed the firm's acquisition of Actaris Metering Systems, for $1.7B. Actaris is a provider of electricity, gas, and water metering outside of the North American market. Itron is a manufacturer of energy and water meters. The combined company now boasts more than 8,500 employees, 3,000 utility customers, and customers in more than 60 countries.
