Itron Gets Win Close To Home, With Avista

Liberty Lake, Washington-based smart meter maker Itron announced a customer win this afternoon, very close to home--with Avista, which provides energy services, electricity, and natural gas in eastern Washington, northern Idaho, and parts of southern and eastern Oregon. According to Itron, Avista will deploy its OpenWay Riva internet-of-things (IoT) products as part of a deployment in the area. Avista provides electricity to 375,000 customers, and natural gas to 335,000 customers in the region. Financial impact of the smart meter win was not announced.
