Juno Lands Massive $120M Round For Cancer Research

Seattle-based Juno Therapeutics has raised an astounding, $120M in a Series A funding round today, to go towards the launch of a new company to develop immunotherapies for cancer. The startup--spun out of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), along with Seattle Children's Research Institute, said the funding came from ARCH Venture Partners and the Alaska Permanent Fund, along with others. The company said it believes it can engineer smart T cells to eradicate malignant cancer cells. More information »
