Kitchen Monki Launches Recipe Site
Seattle-based Kitchen Monki announced today that it has officially launched its site, focused on helping home cooks organize recipes and manage their grocery lists. The startup, which was co-founded by Sam Kinney and Emily O'Brien, said it is looking to provide a location for cooks to manage their recipes, set their weekly meal plans, and automate their grocery lists. The site is not the first for Kinney, who was co-founder of FreeMarkets, which was sold to Ariba in 2004 for $493M. O'Brien also was at FreeMarkets. The firm said that Kitchen Monki was born out of Kinney's own need, as a single father of three boys, for a "kitchen operating system" to manage the meal planning process.
