LightScribe Hits 100 Customers, Reports Shipment Totals

Corvallis, Oregon-based LightScribe, which develops CD and DVD labeling technology, reported yesterday that it now has over 100 licensees of its technology. The firm also disclosed shipment numbers of drive enabled with its labeling technology, saying that there have been over 115 million of LightScribe-enabled drives shipped to date. LightScribe licenses technology which allows consumers to burn photos, graphics, images, and text onto the surface of CDs and DVDs. Among the licensees of the firm's products are HP, Lenovo, Alienware, BenQ, Sony, Aleratec, and many others. The firm first introduced its technology five years ago.
