Livemocha Signs Pearson


Seattle-based Livemocha, a venture-backed, online language learning site, said Tuesday that it is in a strategic agreement with education firm Pearson. According to the two firms, they will co-develop a new, online language learning community based on Livemocha's online platform. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. The two firms said they will build a series of online, conversational English courses in the joint development effort. Pearson is a major provider of English language teaching tools nationwide. The companies said that their first products based on the collaboration will appear this August.
