Madrona, Amazon Invest In Online Advertising Firm

Madrona Venture Group and Amazon.com have both invested in an online advertising firm, Yieldex, Yieldex said Monday, as part of a $8.5M Series B funding round for the company. According to Yieldex, the round was led by Madrona Venture Group, and also included Amazon.com, Sequel Venture Partners, and First Round Capital. Yielddex develops technology used for managing online advertising inventory and forecasting. Yieldex was the winner of the Amazon Web Services Start-Up Challenge in November of last year, and received $100K for winning that competition from Amazon.com. The firm is based in New York, and was started in Boulder, Colorado.
