Marchex Powers Skype Click-To-Call Ads

Seattle-based Marchex has linked with voice-over-IP application Skype in a click-to-call deal, the firms said today. According to the firms, they will provide a performance-based, advertising program which will help advertisers acquire new customers using Skype. The firms said that the effort will allow advertisers to pay for incoming calls, via Skype, on a pay-for-call basis. The new service, which is launching in the U.S., Canada, and Western Europe, will be managed by Marchex. Financial deals between Skype and Marchex were not disclosed. Skype said that Marchex will monitor call volumes, and provide detailed call analytics to advertisers.
