Maveron Backs Online College Effort

Seattle-based venture firm Maveron has put its weight behind a firm which operates online, accredited colleges, Altius Education, Altius said today. According to Altius, Maveron is one of the two firms leading a $8M, Series A investment in the company. Maveron is co-leading the round with Spark Capital, in a deal that also includes investments from The Noah Fund. Amy Errett of Maveron is joining the board of Altius in conjunction with the investment. Altius Education operates Ivy Bridge College, an online two-year degree program being offered in conjunction with Tiffin University.
