    Maveron Funds Probiotic Drink Firm


    Seattle-based Maveron is the lead investor in a Colorado firm that makes probiotic fruit juice beverages, NextFoods. NextFoods, which makes the GoodBelly brand of pribiotic fruit drinks, said this week that Maveron led a $16M investment in the firm. NextFoods was founded by Steve Demos, who was founder and former President of WhiteWave, Inc., which makes the Silk soymilk drink. Maveron is the Seattle venture capital firm of Dan Levitan and Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks.
