Maveron Plans Seed Funding Push

Seattle-based venture capital investor Maveron is ramping up its seed level investments--in a big way--with plans to invest in at least one consumer startup a month. Maveron said this morning that it will be investing seed funding in consumer startups, investing $100,000 to $250,00 per company, a significant uptick in its investment rate in startups. Maveron said it is "doubling down" on the consumer sector with the new seed program, which it says will focus on businesses with technology-enabled products and services in commerce, education and health and wellness. Maveron said it already has invested in three companies this year.
