Melinda Gates Backs Aspect Ventures In $181M New Fund

Melinda Gates has made an investment into a Silicon Valley venture capital firm, Aspect Ventures, as part of a new, $181M fund for the venture investment firm. According to Gates, in a statement from Aspect Ventures, she made the investment in Aspect in part because they are backing diverse entrepreneurs whose potential the venture capital industry has been blind to. Aspect Ventures was founded by Jennifer Fonstad and Theresia Gouw, and raised its first fund, worth $150M, in 2014.
