Mentor Graphics Adds Multimedia Device Reference Design

Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics has rolled out a new reference design for multimedia devices, the firm said Monday. The firms said the reference design--which is used by hardware designers as a template for their own development efforts--is targeted for portable media players, personal navigation devices, mobile internet, mobile phones, digital picture frames, and other devices. The new design is based on Mentor's Nucleus operating system, which provides basic operating system functionality for hardware devices. Mentor Graphics is a provider of electronics hardware and software design products.
