Mentor Graphics Adds New Altera Support

Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics is supporting the newest field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) from vendor Altera, the firm said today. Mentor said its Precision Synthesis products now support Altera's 40 nanometer Stratix IV GT and Arria II GX FPGAs. Mentor's software is used by circuit designers to synthesize and test their designs for those FPGA designs. FPGAs are used to implement electronic circuits without requiring long cycle times to develop custom chips for those circuits.
