    Mentor Graphics Gets Win With STMicroelectronics


    Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics said this morning that it has been selected by STMicroelectronics. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Mentor Graphics said that its Calibre DFM (design for manufacturing) software has been selected b STMicroElectronics for 65nm and 45nm designs. STMicroElectronics has been using Mentor's tools since it s 130nm designs. Mentor's tools are used by semiconductor manufacturers to fine tune their circuits to improve yields; the software is specifically tuned to detect variations in the lithographic processes used to manufacture semiconductors and design around them for better yields.
