Wilsonville, Oregon-based electronic design software firm Mentor Graphics said this morning that semiconductor foundry GLOBALFOUNDRIES is working with the firm on a 20nm, manufacturing process. According to the firm, GLOBALFOUNDRIES is using its Calibre YieldEnhancer product to enable advanced fill techniques for its 20nm manufacturing processes. Financial impact of the deal were not announced. Mentor's software is used by semiconductor manufacturers and designers to optimize the layout of their designs, to optimize those semiconductor yields.
