Mentor Graphics Signs NXP

Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics, which develops system verification and design software for the electronics market, said this week that NXP, the semiconductor spinoff of Philips NV, has selected the firm for system level verification of its HDTV and set-top box products. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Mentor said that NXP will use its Veloce software for complete, system-level verification of its systems-on-a-chip products designed for use in HDTV displays and set-top boxes. Mentor's software is used to simulate chip designs during the semiconductor design process.
