Merix Merges With Viasystems

Beaverton, Oregon-based Merix Corporation, a manufacturer of printed circuit boards, is merging with Viasystems Group, the firms said this week. The all-stock deal makes Viasystems shareholders 80.5 percent owners of the new firm, with Merix shareholders owning approximately 12.5 percent of the new company. The merger creates an $840M revenue provider of prototyping and high volume PCB manufacturing, which the two companies claim will make the firm the largest publicly traded printed circuit board manufacturer in the united states. Viastems Group is based in St. Louis.
