Microsoft, Facebook Team Up On Advertising

Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft announced this morning that it is in a strategic alliance with Palo Alto, California-based Facebook to provide advertising to users of the popular college social networking site. Microsoft will be the exclusive provider of banner advertising and sponsored link on the Facebook site. Terms were not disclosed. The two will use Microsoft's adCenter platform for the advertising. The two said that they began discussions on the relationship only last week, and expect the new advertising to appear in early fall.
