    Microsoft, MetroFi Team On Free Wireless In Portland


    Microsoft and MetroFi said today that the two are in a strategic alliance to provide free wireless internet in Portland, Oregon. The firms said they will bring MSN content and services to an advertising-supported, free Wi-Fi network covering Portland. According to the firms, the free Internet service will cover 95 percent of the city. The network will support up to 1 Mbps downloads and up to 256 Kbps uploads.
