Microsoft Boosts Dell Recycling Effort

Computer maker Dell has roped in support from Microsoft for its recycling efforts at Goodwill Industries stores, the firm said this week, and is now allowing consumers to drop off Microsoft Xbox and Zune devices and accessories for recycling. According to Dell, over 1,900 Goodwill locations will accept the Microsoft devices for free recycling as part of its Reconnect program, with support from Microsoft. Reconnect--a partnership between Dell and Goodwill--allows consumers to drop their computers off, for free, so that they will be properly recycled. Dell said that the program has diverted more than 96 million pounds of e-waste from landfills since 2004.
