Microsoft has acquired Caligari, a Mountain View, California-based firm that develops 3D modeling tools. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Caligari will become a subsidiary of Microsoft. Caligari's products are used for developing 3D models, rendering 3D animation, and are being used by Microsoft's Virtual Earth team.
