Redmond-based Microsoft has announced this morning that it has acquired AVIcode, a developer of .NET application monitoring software. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. AVIcode, which is based in Baltimore, provides software used to monitor .NET applications, and has been used in Microsoft in its own datacenters for XBOX Live. Microsoft said AVIcode's products will become part of its System Center product family.
