Microsoft Buys DevOps Software Developer

Redmond-based Microsoft has staked a claim in the hot DevOps market, saying that it has acquired application lifecycle management (ALM) software development business InRelease, which is a business unit of InCycle Software. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Microsoft said the buy will help add release management capabilities to its software solutions. DevOps is one of the hottest parts of the enterprise software development market, where developers are now using techniques to continually deploy and test their software under operations (DevOps). InCycle Software is based in Laval, Quebec. The companies said InCycle Software will continue to offer up its ALM consulting as a separate entity.
