Microsoft Employees Give $142M To Nonprofits

Redmond-based Microsoft Corp. said yesterday that its employees have given $142M to nonprofits via its Microsoft Philanthropies effort, on top of another $465M in cloud services donated by the company itself to 71,000 organizations. According to Microsoft, those employee funds went to 19,000 nonprofits, and brings its total raised for those nonprofits by Microsoft to $1.5 billion since 1983. Microsoft announced its Microsoft Philanthropies effort a year ago, saying it would provide $1 billion in cloud services to nonprofits.
