Microsoft Invests In Southeast Asia'a Grab

Redmond-based Microsoft is making an investment in Southeast Asia on-demand transportation Grab, the two companies said late Monday evening, in a deal where Grab will adopt Microsoft Azure as its "preferred cloud" platform. Size of the investment was not announced. According to the companies, the investment and use of Azure is the "first step" in what the two said would be a broad collaboration by the firms. The companies said they plan to work on other efforts involving big data, AI, machine learning, authentication and mobile facial recognition, fraud detection, and many other areas.
