Microsoft Corp. reported some statistics on the firm's partnership partnership program with online movie rental service Netflix Inc. this morning. According to Microsoft, the deal has yielded a significant amount of interest and traffic since its November launch. According to Microsoft, more than 1 million of its Xbox LIVE Gold members have downloaded and activated an application from Netflix that enables them to instantly watch movies and television episodes via their Xbox 360 gaming consoles. Microsoft also said the Xbox LIVE community has viewed more than 1.5 billion minutes of video footage from Netflix in less than three months. Microsoft and Netflix inked the Xbox-based, Netflix streaming deal at E3 back in July of last year; the service requires a Netflix subscription.
