Microsoft Rolls Out It Own Wearable, The Band

Microsoft jumped into the health and wearables market Wednesday, announcing the Microsoft Band, a wearable band which tracks a user's health and fitness. The Band is part of a new effort that Microsoft is calling Microsoft Health, a cloud service which Microsoft said will allow consumers and the industry to store and combine health and fitness data. Microsoft Health includes a mobile app which works on Android, iOS, and Windows Phone, and helps integrate data from different health and fitness devices, in addition to Microsoft's own wearable. Microsoft said that app will track how many calories a user has burned during a workout, user sleep patterns, and also help suggest improvements in fitness schedules, breakfast, and more.
