    Microsoft Ties Into Linux Provider


    Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft and Linux platform provide Xandros announced today that the two are in a broad collaboration agreement. Xandros develops a number of cross-platform management tools which allow administrators to manage both Linux and Windows PCs. According to the firms, the deal covers systems management interoperability between Xandros and Microsoft's System Center; licensing of Microsoft server communications protocols to Xandros; development of open source translators for Microsoft Office documents; intellectual property assurance, and sales and marketing support from Microsoft.
