    Mirina Raises Funds For Biotech Startup


    Seattle-based biotech incubator Accelerator Corporation said Friday that it has formed a new company, Mirina Corporation, with funding from a set of venture investors. Accelerator said that Mirina is focused on developing therapeutics using Minor Groove Binder technology to affect cellular processes involving microRNAs. Amount of the funding was not given. The funding came from Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Amgen Ventures, ARCH Venture Partners, OVP Venture Partners and WRF Capital. The firm is the ninth spinout of Accelerator Corp. Mirina has an exclusive licensed to the technology from Nanogen.
