Microsoft Acquires Massive
Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft last night acquired Massive, Inc., in a move that will put the software giant into the business of providing video game advertising. Microsoft said that it is acquiring Massive, which is based in New York, to help it deliver advertising into its Xbox Live and MSN Games services. Massive provides in-game advertising through placing brands on soft drink cans, pizza boxes, billboards, posters, and other parts of video games. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
