Vertafore, an insurance software provider whose operating unit AMS Services is based in Bothell, Washington, is acquiring San Francisco-based BenefitPoint. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. BenefitPoint provides software for the benefits area. The companies said that the acquisition would allow the two to meet the needs of the benefits agency market. Vertafore provides specialized software used by insurance agents and brokers. The firm is owned by Hellman & Friedman LLC and JMI Equity, two private equity firms.
