Seattle-based Isilon Systems said this morning that it has rolled out two new storage systems targeted at virtualized data centers and near-line archiving. Isilon said its new Isilon IQ 12000 and EX 12000 products provide up to 1.6 petabytes of capacity; the new device is based on nodes which provide up to 12TB of capacity each, using Hitachi 1 TB SATA-II disk drives. The new devices are based on a 2U rackmount form factor, and run Isilon's OneFS operating system software. Isilon is a manufacturer of clustered storage systems.
