iovation Granted Patent
Portland, Oregon-based iovation, which develops technology for managing online fraud, said today that it has been issued a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. According to the USPTO, the patent, number 7,272,728, was actually granted in early September, and names Greg Pierson and Jason DeHaan as inventors. The patent is entitled "Network Security and Fraud Detection System and Method." iovation said the patent covers core elements of its device identification technology and reputation management platform. The filing from the USPTO shows that the patent was actually applied for in June of 2004, and that iovation was represented by Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt in the filing. iovation is venture backed by Intel Capital, along with others.
