Seattle-based Amazon.com said this morning that it is in an agreement to acquire Audible, Inc., a publisher of audio books, in a $300M deal. Amazon said it will pay $11.50 per share in cash for Audible.com, which creates audio versions of books, newspapers, magazines, and other media. According to Amazon, the deal is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2008.
