Online travel booking service Expedia Inc. announced Wednesday that it will begin listing the resort hotel properties of Spanish hotel chain Sol Melia as part of a long-term distribution agreement. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Expedia noted that, not only is this the first agreement between the two companies, it is also the first distribution transaction involving all of Sol Melia's global properties, which will be listed on Expedia.com and hotels.com. Headquartered in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, Sol Melia operates nearly 350 hotels in 30 countries and employs some 32,500 people. Expedia is based in Bellevue, Wash.
