Infospace Names Lansing CEO
Bellevue, Washington-based InfoSpace is reporting today that it has hired William Lansing as the firm's new President, CEO, and member of its board. Lansing replaces Jim Voelker, who the firm said will retire as President and CEO of the company, but will remain as chairman through 2010. Lansing was most recently President and CEO of Value Vision Media, where he was in charge of Shop NBC.TV; he has also served at venture firm General Atlantic Partners as a partner, and also has been at NBC Internet, Inc., Fingerhut Companies, and Federated Direct. InfoSpace is an operator of a number of online search engines and related web sites.
