INRIX Providing Microsoft with Traffic Data
Traffic data and analysis firm INRIX Inc. revealed Monday that it has signed computing heavyweight Microsoft as a client. According to INRIX, it is providing Microsoft's voice-activated local search service, Live Search 411, with real-time traffic information. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. Kirkland, Wash.-based INRIX said the traffic data includes travel times, accidents and congestion information. Microsoft's free Live Search 411 service also provides mobile phone users with local business search, directions and weather. Among INRIX's other clients are: Ford Motor Co., TomTom, MapQuest, TeleNav and deCarta.
