TriQuint Gets DARPA Win
Hillsboro, Oregon-based Triquint Semiconducutor reports today that the firm has been awarded leadership on a Phase II, Gallium Nitride (GaN) research and development contract funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). According to the firm, the contract, which will be delivered to the Army Research Laboratory, is focused on developing new high power, wideband GaN amplifiers for the defense industry. TriQuint has been working on the project in Phase II since 2005. The new Phase II effort is worth $16.5M, and is expected to be completed in two years.
